JTX Cyclo 6 Review

If you're looking for an indoor cycle that performs like the highest end models, but comes in at more than reasonable price, then you may want to consider the JTX Cyclo 6.

With a substantial weight and a fairly heavy flywheel, it provides for a stable and smooth ride with nearly unlimited resistance. However, it's not so heavy and large that you can't easily move it around or fit it in a tight space.

It's a great combination of affordability, stability, and convenience, all in one.

Today, we're going to do an in-depth review of the JTX Cyclo 6 to see exactly what it brings to the table.

Overview of the JTX Cyclo 6

The JTX Cyclo 6 is an indoor studio cycle designed for home fitness. JTX, a popular brand in the UK, has built a reputation for producing high-quality yet affordable fitness equipment, and the Cyclo 6 reflects this quite perfectly.

Made to bring a gym-quality experience to the home, this bike features a serious 22kg flywheel, magnetic resistance, and a sturdy steel frame.

With an adjustable seat and handlebars, it allows people of all sizes to use it, making it a versatile choice for everyone, from beginners to more seasoned cyclists.

Coming in at 124cm in length and 54cm in width, it’s compact enough for use at home without sacrificing performance.

Moreover, the JTX Cyclo 6 can support users up to 135kg, offering stability and durability in equal measure.

JTX Cyclo 6 Review

With a quick overview out of the way, let's now do a closer look at the Cyclo 6.

Unboxing

The unboxing of this indoor cycle was very straightforward. First, it came in a solid package, which ensured that all of the parts arrived in one piece, and it also came with easy-to-follow setup instructions.

It already comes partially assembled, so the process only takes about half an hour to complete. Plus, it also comes with all the necessary tools for assembly, another bonus.

Once it is put together, it feels substantial and sturdy enough to ride on, but without being way too large.

Something we noticed right out-of-the-box is that the quality of the materials is very high, something that we discuss further below.

Materials and Durability

JTX Cyclo 6 Materials and Durability

The JTX Cyclo 6 is built for durability, which can clearly be seen by the heavy gauge steel frame. It's able to handle intense workouts and very heavy use without breaking down.

Weighing in at 63 kilograms, it's a solid bike, especially for this price range.

The steel frame makes sure that it stays in one piece even with the most intense workouts, such as when you stand up on it for hill climbs. There is plenty of reinforcement in all of the right areas to ensure a stable and smooth ride.

Design, Stability, and Weight Capacity

In terms of design, the JTX Cyclo 6 combines functionality and athletics. It has a sleek, modern look with a compact footprint, measuring 124cm by 54cm, which fits nicely in most home gyms or even in the corner of a room.

It's a great combination of being big enough for large people to use, while also small enough so that it doesn't take up too much space in your home.

That being said, it has a weight capacity of up to 135 kilograms, which means that even the largest of people should be able to use it with ease and still feel stable.

There is also a quick-stop brake for when when you need to stop suddenly.

Comfort Features

JTX Cyclo 6 Comfort Features

Comfort is crucial for any piece of exercise equipment, and JTX clearly kept this in mind when designing the Cyclo 6.

Something that you might appreciate about this unit is that it features a fully adjustable seat, both horizontally and vertically, combined with good padding to keep your backside comfortable for the durability of your ride.

Being able to adjust it both horizontally and vertically means that you should be able to find a comfortable riding position, no matter how tall or short you are.

Another comfort factor that you like is the oversized handlebars that feature multiple grip options, combined with their padding.

They're more than comfortable to use and can accommodate many different positions and cycling intensities.

We were also glad to see JTX chose to include dual sided pedals, which have a flat surface on one side and the SPD clips on the other, which means that you can wear cycling shoes or regular shoes.

Console

JTX Cyclo 6 Console

The JTX Cyclo 6’s console is as straightforward as possible, providing all the essential metrics like time, distance, calories burned, and heart rate.

It might seem a bit basic compared to some of the higher-end options, but it does the job just fine.

The LCD screen is large enough, clear, and easy to read, so you can quickly see all of the most important metrics at a glance.

Although the display itself might not show you more complex metrics, you can connect it to your smartphone or tablet and then install certain workout applications for a more in-depth analysis of your cycling session.

Resistance Levels and Overall Performance

When it comes to resistance, the JTX Cyclo 6 is simply amazing. It comes with a heavy 22kg flywheel, which provides you with a balanced and smooth ride comparable to a much higher-end model.

It comes with magnetic resistance with near infinite adjustability, meaning that you can go as light or hard as you want.

Even better is the fact that the ride feels extremely smooth and fluid. The fact that it comes with magnetic resistance and a belt-driven flywheel means that it's not only smooth but quiet as well.

Size, Weight, and Portability

JTX Cyclo 6 Size, Weight, and Portability

The JTX Cyclo 6 is compact yet sturdy, weighing in at 63kg with dimensions of 124cm (L) x 54cm (W) x 122cm (H).

Although it might be fairly heavy, it also comes with two transport wheels so you can easily move it from one spot to another.

Remember, although it might be quite heavy, this is a good thing because it helps keep you stable during your workout.

Warranty

This indoor cycle comes with a two-year warranty for parts and labour, as well as a lifetime warranty on the frame, which is very good for a bike that can cost less the £500.

Final Thoughts

JTX Cyclo 6

The bottom line is that if you need a solid, stable, and comfortable indoor cycle that can easily fit in a tight space, while still providing you with a smooth and challenging workout, then the JTX Cyclo 6 is certainly worth considering.

Although it comes in at what some would say is a bargain price, it performs like a high-end indoor cycle.

No, it may not have a whole lot of fancy features, but it's more than enough to get your heart pumping and your sweat running.
